As you can probably imagine, being 8 months pregnant sort of limits your ability to up and head out on fun, last minute getaways and therefore limits your ability to buy, mix, match and coordinate awesome outfits for said weekend jaunts.
Now, I’m starting with Vegas because my amazing husband gave me a trip (whenever I choose to go) last weekend for my baby shower. Now, I’ve got to be honest here, I have NO idea when this trip will actually take place, but just the thought of planning, online window shopping, closet analyzing and styling has been really theraputic for me and I keep finding myself day dreaming about what I would pack.
Whether it’s because it’s just plain FUN or because it’s allowing me to imagine a day where I will be able to wear whatever I want without considering my growing belly, I think I’m going to start putting together looks for all upcoming real and not real (don’t worry I’ll specify) future plans.
Again, as Vegas has been a topic of conversation lately, I’ll start with this trip pipe dream! 🙂
Look 1: On the plane (and Day 1 in Vegas)!!!
Think easy and comfortable, but a look that can take you through the day until check in at your hotel.
The vest adds texture and is easy to remove if it’s too hot out and the shades of black denim are perfect for travelling as they have Mavi’s signature stretch and can be easily switched out for shorts (if needed).
Thow on a bangle and a flat shoe that is on trend, but really comfortable, so you can cruise the strip for as long as needed!
Textured Jersey Cami from Simons
Shades of Black Alexa Jean from Mavi Canada
AEO Denim Vest from American Eagle
Fringed Suede Crossbody from Simons
Metallic Bracelet from Simons
Look 2: Night 1.
It’s your first night in Vegas, so regardless what you are doing (Cirque Du Soleil, dinner at STK, dancing at XS or all of the above) you want to shine a little bit don’t you? The metallic dress is sexy, but gives movement, so you won’t feel constricted, especially if you go out for that awesome dinner ;).
Pair it with a statement piece even though the dress is a statement itself- Hey! It’s Vegas, so do it up. Use a small but over the shoulder bag (clutches look good, but seriously, are you going to be holding that thing all night?). And lastly, you want a comfortble wedge, so that you can dance the night away and be able to walk the next day.
NOTE: The bracelet is the same as Look 1. Always pack things that will go with different outfits. It saves space in the suitcase for new baubles you might want to bring back!!! You’ll see a few of the same pieces reused in each look.
